KC Star... Kumquats... Collins
Here's the newest review of We Disappear. This one's written by Mark Luce for the Kansas City Star / kansascity.com. (Pictured below: Kansas City, home of the Star.)
As I said before, I'll be elaborating on the book tour soon. Tomorrow I take off for San Francisco, and right after that, Portland and Seattle. I have one more night here in LA, staying in the guest bedroom at the fantastic Hollywood house of my pals Eryk and Bryce, where a lovely little kumquat tree is growing just outside my window.
Oh, and before I forget: at Thursday evening's Book Soup event, just a few minutes after my reading, an astonishing thing happened: Joan Collins walked into the store. Unfortunately, she wasn't there for We Disappear-- just a newspaper, apparently.

A la Cart
I'm in LA right now, on my book tour; I'll post a "Tour Diary" update shortly. So far, things are going smashingly. I'll elaborate soon.
Until then: my friend Eryk Casemiro, with whom I'm staying here in LA, just turned me on to this amazing book by Hillary Carlip. Click on the link to experience a little bit of genius.

Updates
By now, you've surely noticed the revamping of this website. Thanks as always to Michael Borum of etherweave. In the coming weeks, I'll be updating some of the sections of the site, as well.
Yesterday was Anniversary #13 for my boyfriend & me. Unfortunately, Michael is currently out of the country, on a fellowship/residency at the Instituto Sacatar, so we only got to share our day together for half an hour on SKYPE.
(Yeah, I know I've already posted it here, but just in case you want to watch the trailer again....)
My book tour officially starts tonight (although I don't really leave the Boston area until next week). Tuesday, March 4, 7pm, I'm kicking things off at the great Brookline Booksmith. Here's a confession: the reading is about 5 hours away, and I still have absolutely no clue what section I'm reading, how I'm going to preface it, or how prepared I am for the after-reading Q&A. Oh well.
I'm also reading on Thursday night (the 6th) at the also-great Porter Square Books in Cambridge.
Just published: an interview with me on Bookslut.com, conducted by the wonderful Mark Doten.

Book Sense
Just found out that We Disappear is a Book Sense pick for March. I'm thrilled. Book Sense picks didn't exist when my first two novels were published, so this is a first for me.
