Jan. 4: Happy Birthday, Mark Hollis
One of my favorite humans on the face of the earth. Oh, how I wish you'd make music again....
(Two of my greatest joys in life are Talk Talk's final pair of brilliant, beautiful, perfect albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock. If I could ever create a work of art even half as great as either of those records, I'd die a happy man.)

Oh Scott! Do you know about my Mark Hollis obsession? I can't remember if we've discussed it, but he's the most amazing musician I can think of. And the video you posted here is one of my favorites. I have a neighbor (if we HAVEn't discussed it!) who played with Talk Talk on the 1985 and 1986 tour. Can you imagine? I blogged about it recently. An amazing man. Thank you for reminding me of his birthday.
