Off to France...
Starting tomorrow, I'll be in France for a week, as We Disappear is about to be released there. Au Diable Vauvert is my French publisher (as they were with Mysterious Skin); I'm really happy with them, and their list of books and authors is impressively welcoming. Prior to my 3-4 days in Paris, I'll spend a weekend with my friend Christophe (who is also the translator of both the novels) in Saint-Malo, which, based on photos like the one below, seems pretty darn magnificent.

I remember in HS French class my teacher telling me about how St. Malo was destroyed by Nazi bombers and that it was reconstructed to look like it did in 17-18th century. That story always stuck with me so awesome is it that you get to visit there!

Saint-Malo looks idyllic.

Bon voyage Monsieur Heim! See you when you return. I'll makre sure to pick up and read the French version of "We disappear" (NOUS DISPARAISSONS) when I'm in Belgium!

Any chance to hear you talk about your books somewhere in Paris, have a copy signed or something?
