Procrastination
So, I've been lazy with this space--I should've posted news and pictures of my Galapagos trip; I should've reported on the recent 24-hour, 12-team-participating Scavenger Hunt I hosted; I should've updated news about the upcoming book. (Oh, and I also owe about 100 people emails, so huge apologies if you're one of those people.) Instead, I'll wait a little longer and do another interlude of music I've been listening to--some of it recent, some of it sort-of recent.
(1) LCD Soundsystem, "Someone Great":
(2) M83, "Sister (Part 2)":
(3) Liars, "Plaster Casts of Everything":
(4) Console, "Magnolia":
(5) The Mary Onettes, "Pleasure Songs":
(6) The High Violets, "Invitation":
(7) Frightened Rabbit, "The Greys":
(8) The Sea and Cake, "Crossing Line":
(9) The Black Ghosts, "Some Way Through This":
(10) Rogue Wave, "Lake Michigan":
(11) Port Royal, "Putin vs. Valery":
(12) Caribou, "Melody Day":

Oh god-- I hadn't heard that. I used to go to clubs that Dean hosted. (One of which had the freakiest name ever -- "Pubic Hair Club for Men.") But that's horrible. I'll try to find out more on this online.

Sad day for gay hard core music . Dean Johnson of the Velvet Mafia was found dead in DC, according to the NY Daily News. Mysterious case that I'm sure will get a lot of attention. Dean used to host Homocore at CBGB with his band the Velvet Mafia.
