I really liked the first proposed cover because it was so iconically Midwestern. But the second version is great, too.

I only put the top third of the proposed cover on here, the part with the title, because I'm not sure if HarperCollins has officially settled on the final version. I was really fond of the original scan they sent, but then they changed it for various reasons... and after some time I decided I'm pretty fond of the new one, as well. I'm still not sure I should stick either of 'em up here on the weblog, but if you go to my Myspace page, you might be able to search and find the photo scans... xx

The only cover I recall is the one I see posted in this entry, with the giant yellow letters against what looks a bit like dry ice. The "We" is larger than "Disappear." I have wondered if the shape of the book, given the shape of the picture, is longer than it is tall. That might be fun. Is the photograph a picture of the entire front cover?

Fred Fred Fred, which cover do you mean? They've nixed the original one. I like the new one... not as much as the original, but there isn't much I can do about it. Did I send you the jpegs of both covers...?
