Ten Recommendations
Five new(ish) CDs:
Trentemøller, The Last Resort; Grizzly Bear, Yellow House; Mahogany, Connectivity!; 120 Days, 120 Days; Hammock, Raising Your Voice... Trying to Stop an Echo.
Four new (and very different) novels (okay, I've only read two of them, but I know I'm going to love the others):
Cormac McCarthy, The Road; Daniel Woodrell, Winter's Bone; Daniel Cox, Tattoo This Madness In; and Carolyn Turgeon, Rain Village.
And one movie, which made me laugh harder than any movie, ever:
BORAT.

Scott,
You should check out Brightblack morning light. I think you would like them. They are somewhere in between Espers and Shoegazing I think.

I had to laugh when I realized that Borat speaks a sort of pidgin Polish (in combination with a lot of garble). I guess my intensive, two-week Polish language course in Lublin this summer paid off, then ... ;-)

I love your taste in music, Scott. Have you checked out Jenny Wilson or Peter, Bjorn, & John, yet?
Jenny's on The Knife's label, Rabid Records.
PB&J are folkier, but I think they'd be up your alley.
