Region 2
As previously mentioned, the DVD for Mysterious Skin has been out for a few weeks now. If some of you have an all-region player, though, you might want to check out the UK edition (Region 2) of the disc. There are quite a few minutes of extras that aren't on the US, including long interviews with Gregg, Brady and Joe, and me, as well as a London Film Festival discussion we did.
Thanks to everyone for the music suggestions. I highly recommend the new Clientele. Jaw-droppingly gorgeous. AERIAL, the Kate Bush cd, is monumental--perfect if you prefer her "Hounds of Love" days.

I watched the DVD a few nights ago. I worry when a film is made of a book that I really like, especially when the story is complex and full of dream like images; there are so many ways that a director can screw it up or an actor can get it wrong or the work can just be produced to death. (Just look at any of the Ann Rice adapatations for examples!) I needn't have worried. The film is an incredible piece of work and true to your book; I can't imagine what it must have been like for you to see this film for the first time.
I really enjoy your writing; thanks for doing it.

Apparently the Virgin site you link to doesn't deliver to any countries outside the UK and Ireland. Any way we can get the UK DVD here in North America?

i made a promise to myself to get a kitten
after exmass,il be picking up the dvd as soon as pay day comes, its weird as this is the third time a cat as appeared on my screen, everyone has one now!,

Happy Thanksgobbling to you and Michael.
I rented MYSTERIOUS SKIN on DVD last night and was glad at how closely it resembled your novel. I had to be at work at 9:00 a.m. but I started the movie at 11:45 and then watched it with the commentary. What a warm cast and crew seem to have been involved. The whole bunch of you have done something profound.
