ROLE MODELS, by John Waters (And the Boston Public Library Event I'm Moderating)
If you're in the Boston area this coming Thursday, please come to the Rabb Lecture Hall in the Boston Public Library for an event featuring filmmaker/actor/artist/writer John Waters. The event will focus on John's new collection of essays, Role Models; it's also being billed as a discussion with yours truly, as I'm the moderator of the evening. More information about the event can be found here.

John and I have been pals for quite a few years, and I'm a long-time fanatic for his films. After finishing ROLE MODELS, I can truly report that his book--with essays about folks like Little Richard, Patty McCormack, Johnny Mathis, Commes des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo, and one-time Manson Family member Leslie Van Houten, among others--is as equally hilarious, engaging, weird, and excellent as his best movies.
